Five key areas of Montessori distance program

Montessori is a teaching method that emphasizes self-directed practice, hands-on learning, and interactive play. In professional distance education programs, it is taught to the applicants how children will make creative choices in their learning; and, it is the teachers are needed to assist them through the process with age-appropriate activities.

“Never help a child with a task at which he feels he can succeed” is actually the essence of Montessori teaching.

Key Areas in Montessori Curriculum

Practical Life

The Montessori practical life curriculum includes exercises and activities that children see in their everyday lives. Children's independence, focus, and fine motor abilities are all improved through these activities. In Montessori distance education programs, the teachers are taught to help kids in meal preparation, grace and civility lessons, cleaning and other common practical life chores.

Sensorial

Sensory activities help children enhance their senses of sight, touch, sound, smell, and taste so that they can organize their sensory impressions and have a better awareness of the world. Children learn about similarities and difference, dimensions, colors, and shapes, as well as distinguishing between scents, taste, and sound, through sensory materials. By teaching youngsters how to classify and sort, sensory activity also prepares them for arithmetic, language, and geometry.

Mathematics

One of the core ideas in Montessori curriculum is teaching children the abstract ideas of mathematics. Using Montessori materials, children learn to count, recognize and match numerals to quantities, relate decimal quantities and symbols, and become aware of the functions of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Language

The Montessori language Curriculum equips children with the knowledge and skills they need to expand their vocabulary and improve their language comprehension. Hands-on practice with Montessori language resources develops the abilities needed for reading, writing, and speaking language. Daily social contacts, group time experiences, and lessons in grace and etiquette help to enhance oral language abilities.

Culture

Geography, Botany, History, Music, Zoology, Science, and Art are just a few of the subjects included in the Culture Curriculum. Children gain a better awareness of their society, their world, and their societal duties through cultural experiences. Children learn to embrace variety, enjoy music and art, and acquire a sense of environmental consciousness.
