How to prepare your kids for exams?

Learning is never complete. From being a child to adult, there will be constant exams and learning opportunities and when you are doing it for your curriculum in most cases there will be exams. Examinations are stressful at any age however, when you are properly prepared for it, it helps to reduce the stress and enjoy the evaluation.

Irrespective of the age of your child, is a vital that they understand how to get ready for an exam.

  • Stay on top of homework

After successfully completing Montessori teacher training, the trainers are taught how to help the kids and encourage in completing their homework on time. This is equally important when the kids are doing homeschooling. Homework helps to develop independent learning and also let them think about the things that can influence their own development. As a parent you should help in your kid’s homework and make sure that they do not skip it. Lastly, it is a form of revision which means it helps to prepare children for the exam.

  • Giving enough rest

Any mentor who has a successful Montessori teacher certification knows how to keep up the balance between rest and studying. So when the children have their exams knocking on the door, it is not just the revision that will help but as a mentor you should also encourage them to take enough rest and sleep. Studying is definitely important but so is relaxing. As a parent, you should make sure that there is a reasonable bedtime and the get about 9 to 11 hours of sleep regularly. For homeschoolers, it is important to balance the school work and the relaxing time in a proper pattern and not just mix it up.

  • Talk about the tests

The more the children are told about the idea of sitting in an exam and the possible scenarios in an examination centre, the less stressful it will be for them when they appear for it. Weeks before the tests, try to tell them constantly that whatever they are preparing is for their own good but there is nothing to worry about the outcome. Do not find it on the day and do not let the kid get any way uncomfortable. If possible, recreate the test conditions at home.

There are many other ways how children can be motivated for giving the best in their exams but the thumb rule is not to allow them take too much pressure on them and have a proper study and sleep cycle. Grades matter but to have a successful life that is not everything.
